Elements in Magner System represent a main building block in the payroll functionality. All values to be included in the generation process should be mapped to an element to have a central location where different calculations can be processed. There are 3 types of elements:
- Manual: In manual element, the value of the element must apply manually through the periodic movement page and this value will be used later in the generation.
- Calculated: In the calculated element, the values will be the result of a calculated formula that is preconfigured by the user through the calculated formula console.
- Plugin: The last type is the plugin, this type is used when we have complex calculation that cannot be applied through the calculated formula then an external plugin is built and uploaded to the system, then mapped to the element. On generation, the output to the plugin will be populated to this element.
Element Accounting
After generating the payroll, the generation result may be pushed to any third-party accounting system. To adapt Magnar payroll generation output with accounting system, accounting mapping is available where you can map each element with the proper journal account based on different criteria under the element accounting section:
- Company: different accounts can be mapped based on the employee company.
- Employee type: Different accounts can be mapped based on the employee company.
- Cost Center: Different accounts can be mapped based on the employee cost center (Dimension 1 in the employee profile).
Selecting the posting type if it will be by “Cost Center” or “Employee type” should be applied through the Company configuration:
Based on the selected type, the drop-down list in the element accounting should be populated. If the selected type is “Employee type”, the drop-down list will view a list of all employee types else it will display the list of cost centers from dimension one.
